Get your music in

Pick your tracks

Point Alpha at a whole folder, at several, or at individual tracks from different places. They all land in one list.

  • Whole folders and hand-picked files, mixed freely
  • Everything collects in one list before anything runs
  • Nothing is copied or moved — your files stay where they are

Analysis

Alpha reads tempo, key, energy and loudness straight out of the audio, on your own machine.

  • BPM, musical key in Camelot notation, energy and loudness
  • Runs locally — no internet connection needed for it
  • Read-only: your audio files are never modified

rekordbox import

Coming from Pioneer? Export your collection as a rekordbox XML and Alpha keeps the BPM, key and beatgrid rekordbox already worked out.

  • No re-analysis of tempo, key or beatgrid
  • Pick tracks for one set, or write the whole library to the stick as-is
  • Filter the import by search, key, genre or BPM range
  • Cue points are not carried over from the XML

Build the set

Compose

Draw the energy arc your night should follow, say how long it runs, and Alpha orders the tracks to match.

  • Five arc templates — Journey, Wave, Build, Peak-time, Cooldown — or drag the curve yourself
  • Set the target length in 10-minute steps
  • Two sliders: harmonic transitions vs. following your curve, and key vs. tempo matching

Refine

Audition every track, drag the bars to reorder them, and drop anything that doesn't fit.

  • Built-in mini-player for pre-listening
  • Drag a bar to move a track to a new position
  • Removing a track takes it out of this set — never off your disk

Write the drive

USB export

Writes a proper Denon Engine OS drive: your tracks, their metadata and the playlist order, ready to play the moment you plug in.

  • Engine OS 3.x, the format the whole Engine DJ family reads
  • Validates the result, then lets you eject safely
  • Adds to the existing library — it never erases the stick
  • Writing a rekordbox drive isn't supported yet

Match loudness

Every track in the set plays at the same perceived loudness, so you're not riding the gain between songs.

  • Set a target in LUFS, from −20 to −6
  • Reference points for Apple Music, streaming, club and DJ master
  • Peaks never pass −1 dB, so nothing clips
  • Applied to the copies on the stick — your library files stay untouched

Skip duplicates

A track that's already on the stick is linked, not copied a second time — however many playlists use it.

  • One file on the drive, linked from every playlist that needs it
  • Saves space and cuts the write time
  • The full playlist order is always written — only the copy is skipped

Backup before every write

Before Alpha touches a stick, it copies that stick's Engine library to your own computer.

  • Kept on your machine, not on the stick — so it survives a wipe
  • Restore an earlier version whenever you need it
  • Happens automatically on every write

Playlists on device

Plug a drive in and Alpha shows what's already on it — so you can tidy up without opening Engine DJ.

  • See every playlist on the connected stick
  • Rename or delete them
  • Roll the library back to an earlier backup

Try it on your own music

Every feature on this page is in the free download. The only limit is that it stops after 10 tracks — enough for one real set on your own stick, which is the only way to judge a DJ tool anyway.
