This is how Alpha works
Denon DJ & Numark — Engine DJ USB
Alpha writes a standard Engine OS 3.x library straight to the stick — the whole Engine DJ family reads it natively, no Engine desktop session needed.
Pioneer DJ & AlphaTheta — rekordbox USB
Alpha writes both rekordbox libraries plus beat grids, waveforms and artwork directly — the stick plugs straight into the player, no rekordbox software anywhere. A new target: please confirm it on your own gear.
Play from a laptop instead?
Alpha also writes libraries for VirtualDJ, Serato DJ and Traktor Pro — a computer running the software reads the drive, so any controller those apps support will play the set. The details live on the features page.
