What Alpha writes for the SC5000 Prime
Alpha writes a standard Engine OS 3.x library straight onto the stick: the audio files, the interpreted metadata — BPM, musical key in Camelot notation, energy and loudness — and the playlist in exactly the order you built it. That is the format the whole Engine DJ family reads, so the drive plays the moment you plug it in. No Engine DJ desktop session, no re-analysis on the unit.
Before Alpha touches a stick that already has a library, it copies that library to your computer as a backup. Writing adds to what is on the drive — it never erases it — and a track that is already there is linked into the new playlist instead of being copied a second time. After writing, Alpha validates the result and lets you eject safely.
As a dual-layer media player the SC5000 Prime plays two tracks from one unit, which makes the quality of the library on the stick matter twice. Alpha writes BPM, Camelot key and the playlist order into the Engine OS 3.x database, and a pair of linked SC5000s can browse the same drive from one player's slot.

The SC5000 can read a rekordbox USB — why prepare an Engine stick instead?
The on-device rekordbox import is slow and only carries part of the data. Alpha takes your rekordbox XML on the Mac, keeps the BPM, key and beatgrid, and writes a native Engine library — the SC5000 loads it instantly with nothing to convert.
Does the SC5000 Prime re-analyze Alpha's tracks?
No. BPM, key and beatgrid come from the Engine library Alpha writes, so tracks are ready as soon as they load.
Can two SC5000s play from one stick?
Yes — linked players can browse the same source, so one prepared drive in one player's slot covers both.
Will Alpha erase the library that's already on my drive?
No. It backs the existing Engine library up to your computer first, then adds the new set without duplicating tracks.
