What Alpha writes for the OPUS-QUAD
Alpha writes a full rekordbox USB the player reads directly: the classic export.pdb library every CDJ and XDJ has read for years, the newer encrypted exportLibrary.db the latest players prefer, the per-track analysis files with beat grid, cues and waveforms, album artwork, and the audio under Contents/<Artist>/<Album>. No rekordbox software is needed anywhere in the chain — the stick plugs straight into the gear.
The beat grid is built from the interpreted BPM, so tracks arrive beat-ready and the player does not re-analyze anything. One limit to know: Alpha writes one constant beat grid per track, so tempo changes inside a track are not modelled.
As one of the newest players, the OPUS-QUAD prefers the encrypted exportLibrary.db — the format behind rekordbox's "Device Library Plus" — which Alpha writes alongside the classic export.pdb, so the same stick also plays on older CDJs and XDJs. Beat grids, waveforms, artwork and playlist order all land where the player looks for them.

Good to know on the OPUS-QUAD
- The OPUS-QUAD leans on the newer encrypted library (Device Library Plus) — Alpha writes it natively, plus the classic one for older gear on the same stick.
- Three USB slots: two up top for sticks, plus a faster rear port meant for an SSD — Alpha's library plays from any of them. There's no SD slot.
- exFAT and FAT32 both work on the OPUS-QUAD; NTFS doesn't.
- rekordbox export is a new target — please confirm it on your own gear before a gig.

Does the OPUS-QUAD read Alpha's stick without any rekordbox software?
Yes. Alpha writes the rekordbox libraries and analysis files directly — the OPUS-QUAD reads the drive natively, subscription-free.
What about Device Library Plus and the "rekordbox Database not found" error?
The OPUS-QUAD generation reads the newer encrypted Device Library Plus database. Alpha writes it alongside the classic export.pdb, so the player finds its library instead of throwing that error at you.
Can I plug an SSD into the rear USB port?
Yes — the rear port is built for exactly that, and Alpha's library plays from an SSD the same as from a stick. Format it exFAT or FAT32.
