A ready-to-play rekordbox USB for your XDJ-RX3

The XDJ-RX3 gives you the CDJ layout without the laptop — as long as the USB is prepared right. Alpha does the preparation: it analyzes your music, sequences it harmonically along the arc you choose, and writes the rekordbox library the RX3 reads straight from the stick.

What Alpha writes for the XDJ-RX3

Alpha writes a full rekordbox USB the player reads directly: the classic export.pdb library every CDJ and XDJ has read for years, the newer encrypted exportLibrary.db the latest players prefer, the per-track analysis files with beat grid, cues and waveforms, album artwork, and the audio under Contents/<Artist>/<Album>. No rekordbox software is needed anywhere in the chain — the stick plugs straight into the gear.

The beat grid is built from the interpreted BPM, so tracks arrive beat-ready and the player does not re-analyze anything. One limit to know: Alpha writes one constant beat grid per track, so tempo changes inside a track are not modelled.

The RX3's 10.1-inch touchscreen browses the rekordbox library on the stick — which Alpha writes in full: both database formats, beat grids, waveforms, artwork and your playlist in set order. Two USB ports mean two DJs can each bring their own Alpha-prepared stick and hand over without a pause.

Common questions about the XDJ-RX3

Do I need rekordbox installed to prepare a stick for the XDJ-RX3?

No. Alpha writes the rekordbox library and analysis files itself — the RX3 reads the stick exactly as if rekordbox had exported it.

Can two DJs use both USB ports with Alpha sticks?

Yes — each port reads its own rekordbox library independently, so two prepared sticks make a seamless handover.

What drive format does the RX3 want?

FAT32, exFAT and HFS+ all work for music. Keep a FAT32 stick around anyway — firmware updates only load from FAT32. Alpha writes onto the stick's existing filesystem and never reformats.

Does the RX3 have an SD card slot?

No — unlike the CDJs, the RX3 is USB-only. Both ports read the same rekordbox library Alpha writes.
